For more than seven years, integrated marketing company Graphic Solutions Inc. has made charitable contributions in honor of its customers, in lieu of holiday gifts. Three years ago, the company developed a more personalized approach to corporate giving, drawing on its technology expertise.
The ChallengeGSI’s goal was to provide customers with a meaningful thank you, while giving back to the community. Previously, the integrated marketing company had chosen a charity and contributed in honor of its customers. GSI wanted to enable its customers to select the charities that would receive contributions. The SolutionThe GSI team used their expertise in personalized URLs (pURLs) to create a more individualized approach to holiday giving. All customers received a personalized holiday greeting card in the mail, including a pURL.
By logging onto the pURL, each customer visited a personalized landing page, which included an invitation to choose one of three highly-regarded local charities, all of whom had been recommended by a number of GSI customers. The ResultSince the personalized giving program began three years ago, GSI has donated more than $7,000 to local charities. Recent recipients have included The Moyer Foundation, Northwest Harvest and Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Puget Sound. GSI plans to continue the personalized approach to giving during future holiday seasons. |
“Our customers have told us how much they value being able to make a charitable contribution, rather than receiving a traditional gift,” says GSI President Lorne Hood. “They’ve been delighted with the personalized approach and being able to select a charity. And we are pleased to put our technology expertise to work for a good cause.”
